The Tortoise and the Hare of Care: Consumer AI Adoption in Healthcare

One in three Americans now uses AI chatbots for health questions—double the share from a year ago. As evidenced by data from Rock Health’s 2025 Consumer Adoption Survey, consumer behavior is shifting faster than most healthcare organizations are moving. This webinar is a panel conversation exploring what the data means for enterprises across the ecosystem.

This discussion examines how consumers are using AI throughout their care journey, from checking symptoms and interpreting lab results to understanding medical bills and preparing questions for appointments. With 64% of AI users engaging with these tools weekly or more, and 81% taking action after their queries, the conversation explores critical questions around the changing physician-patient dynamic, the gap between AI usage and trust in AI companies, and what happens when patients arrive at clinical encounters already armed with AI-generated insights. The panel also addresses equity implications as AI adoption flattens traditional income barriers while creating new divides, the evolution from generic chatbot responses to personalized guidance using health records and wearables data, and the shift from reactive question-answering toward proactive health monitoring and behavior change.
